Places to visit in Serbia

• Belgrade - The capital city is the best place to start your vacation in Serbia. The Kalemegdan fortress and park are the main attractions here. The museum of natural science and the Observatory and Planetarium are also popular tourist attractions. If time permits, you should also check out the National Museum, the National Theater and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. You will need at least a whole day to explore the major attractions of the city.
• Novi Sad - The imposing Petrovaradin Fortress mentioned earlier is the main attraction in Novi Sad. The underground tunnels and the Clock Tower are also worth a visit. Other places of tourist interest are the Republic Square, Cathedral Square, and Dunavski Park.
• Nis – Nis is Serbia’s third largest city, located in in southern Serbia. The University of Nis is the one attraction that gives the city such a vibrant vibe. The Skull Tower, Nis fortress, Nis Cathedral and Emperor Constantine Church are some other worthwhile attractions in Nis.
• Davolja Varos – Davolja Varos, meaning “Devil’s Town” are peculiar and tall rock formations located on the Radan Mountains, near the city of Leskovac in southern Serbia. These are one of the most stunning natural rock formations in all of Europe.

Food in Serbia

Serbian cuisine shares its characteristics with that of other Balkan nations. Pljeskavica, Cevapi and Karađorđeva šnicla are some of the national dishes. Serbia’s national drink is šljivovica, a plum brandy variety. Below are some other dishes worth trying during your Serbia tour.
