Travel to / from Abu Dhabi

New border rules require Covid-vaccinated individuals wishing to enter Abu Dhabi from within the UAE to have a Green Pass on Al Hosn app. The green status is activated for 15 days when the individual gets a negative Covid-19 test result.

Unless you are an Emirati, UAE residents need to register via the ICA Smart Travel Service before flying https://smartservices.icp.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/guest/index.html#/registerArrivals

If fully vaccinated in the UAE: Register any time before you fly. You do not need to upload your vaccine certificate.

In compliance with the current COVID-19 regulations, the authorities of the Abu Dhabi Emirate have imposed the following mandatory requirements for passengers, which need to be complied with before departure:

You do not need a negative result of an RT-PCR test for COVID-19 if:

    • You are fully vaccinated or
    • You are under the age of 16 or
    • You hold a recovery certificate (containing a QR code) from COVID-19 issued within 30 days before departure.

Additionally, you will not need to quarantine when you arrive in Abu Dhabi.

On the other hand, you must present a negative result of an RT-PCR test for COVID-19 conducted 48 hours before your flight to Abu Dhabi if:

    • You are not fully vaccinated and do not hold a COVID-19 recovery certificate
    • You are transiting in Abu Dhabi and a test is required at your final destination.

Please make sure to crosscheck your documents and baggage allowance before your flight. In case any of the above requirements are not fulfilled, you cannot be permitted to board and fly from the United Arab Emirates.

As the regulations change often, we strongly recommend you to always check the latest travel conditions with the official health and border authorities before travelling and make sure you have the latest information.

It is your responsibility to be aware of the relevant travel restrictions, to ensure you are eligible to enter a country and are fit to travel.
